Chattanooga.Digital's mission is to make it easy and economical for community members to access, own, and use open source solutions that empower them to create, control, and capitalize on data. There are numerous free, readily available applications that could be useful for Chattanooga National Park City in general and for most any other "seed." We propose to deploy software infrastructure for other seed owners and anyone in the community to use for capturing and sharing geodata and creating maps....

Obstacles

The primary obstacle is education and on-boarding. People should be engaged in defining the infrastructure via focused discussions about their requirements. For that we need to understand the full range of NPC seeds and an opportunity to review relevant features & functions with the gardeners. Workshops with gardeners and guides will be necessary to gather and ingest data as well as train them on how to use the tools for analysis, design, and planning purposes.
