Initial research shows that several entities are responsible for the overpass and street below. The Railroad, The City, The County and The state. This makes it difficult to understand who the responsible party is to give us permission to transform.

This one dovetails nicely into the Chattanooga Beltline seed I've proposed. Also, TDOT is repaving and striping Main this year from Dodds to Broad St. This repaving may be our only chance to make this happen for the next 20 years, which is how often TDOT repaves on average. Main is US41 and is controlled by TDOT. They are already making changes behind the scenes and not being very open about what those changes are. We need to start a pressure campaign on TDOT now, in order for these needed safe paths to occur.
