Fire Fighter Memorial Pop-up Park: Slip Lane to Civic Green

Lookout Avenue at Georgia Avenue contains a dangerous traffic pattern that creates conflicts between pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. The slip lane has led to several dangerous altercations in recent years and cuts off access to a recently refurbished memorial fountain honoring Chattanooga’s fallen firefighters. This project proposes a temporary pop-up park that closes the cut-through lane and transforms it into a safe civic space.
