This seed provides free recreational access to a 12,000 acre wildlife corridor 35 miles northwest of Chattanooga featuring rock climbing, hiking, and scenic overlooks with future access to white water kayaking and the potential for biking routes. Along the eastern edge of the Cumberland Plateau lives a massive wildlife corridor filled to the brim with rare species, white water rapids, sandstone cliff lines, spring fed waterfalls, mature forests, and iconic scenic landscapes long cherished by local families. A vital resource and a hidden gem, the Little Sequatchie Cove is at the center of this recreational access project designed to provide rock climbing, hiking, and scenic exploration opportunities....

Whitwell Mountain hovers on the outskirts of Chattanooga, tucked into eastern edge of the Cumberland Plateau. While locals face heightened rates of poverty, mental and physical illness, and illiteracy, they remain powerfully dedicated to creating a healthier future for their neighbors, both human and wildlife alike! This proposed project will not only support the Whitwell Mountain community; It will provide permanent recreational access to a "Private National Park" - a 12,000 acre wildlife corridor overflowing with hiking, climbing, white water kayaking, and birdwatching opportunities. All of the land involved in this project is categorized as high conservation priority and is home to over 40 rare species.
